Gameplay of Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem: What Was Shown at Capcom Spotlight
Although the season of June gaming conferences ended a couple of weeks ago, Capcom held its own presentation on june 26, where it showcased upcoming games and shared news about already released titles. We’ve gathered the key information in this article.
Hacking Robots in Pragmata
Capcom Spotlight kicked off with an explanation of the Pragmata concept and a breakdown of its core mechanics. In case you’re unfamiliar with the project — it’s a mysterious long-running title from the Japanese studio that went silent for years after its announcement in 2020.
Pragmata tells the story of astronaut and rescuer Hugh Williams, who sets off to the Moon with his companions. His mission is to find out why contact was lost with a research station where scientists were studying a new material capable of creating virtually anything through 3D printing — even entire buildings. Upon arrival, Hugh finds himself cut off from the group and encounters Diana, a young android girl who agrees to help him explore the facility. And help will definitely be needed: the station’s AI has clearly gone rogue, and killer robots are roaming everywhere.
Each enemy encounter in Pragmata has two phases: first, Diana must hack the opponent’s defenses to make it vulnerable to damage, and only then can Hugh open fire. The player controls both characters, so hacking mini-games must be performed right in the middle of firefights.
This blend of action and puzzle mechanics is certainly a unique and intriguing idea. The gameplay seems to offer plenty of tactical opportunities: you have to decide which enemy to hack first and what weapon to use. For example, in the heat of battle you might choose to focus on a more powerful robot — or disable it with a stun gun and take out easier targets first.
Pragmata is scheduled to release next year. You can learn more about the project in our separate article.

New Content for Street Fighter 6
Capcom’s fighting game will get a new character on August 5 — Sagat from Thailand, who has appeared in past entries of the series. The developers haven’t shown his gameplay yet, but they did announce a set of new costumes for Street Fighter 6, including swimwear outfits for Cammy, Chun-Li, Manon, Luke, Jamie, Kimberly, and A.K.I. The community is already joking that with DLC like this, Street Fighter 6 might become the best-selling fighting game of all time.
Update for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
The Japanese studio once again reminded fans of its action-strategy game Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. The title was recently ported to Nintendo Switch 2, and on July 19 it will celebrate its first anniversary. To mark the occasion, a new update will launch next month, adding a special charm that turns the soundtrack into 8-bit music.

Underwater Monster in Monster Hunter Wilds and More
On Monday, June 30, players in Monster Hunter Wilds will be able to fight Lagiacrus — the iconic creature from the third installment, which hasn’t appeared in the mainline series for a long time. Lagiacrus dwells in the deep, so battles against it will take place both on the surface and underwater. Developers showed that although weapons can’t be used underwater, players will be able to manipulate the terrain to deal damage to Lagiacrus using falling debris.
The devs also revealed two additional monsters coming to Wilds and highlighted several gameplay improvements — including a weapon transmogrification system and new emotes that let you shred on electric guitars.
Resident Evil Requiem Details
Of all the games featured during Capcom Spotlight, Resident Evil Requiem was, unsurprisingly, the most intriguing. We finally got to see gameplay snippets showcasing the horror atmosphere of the new entry, a camera-switching feature (you can play in first or third person), and familiar mechanics like rotating inventory items. A terrifying creature stalking the protagonist in the intro segment also made an appearance. Additionally, one scene confirmed that Grace Ashcroft — the girl we play as — will be able to use firearms.
What’s most interesting is that during the presentation, the developers suddenly brought up Leon Kennedy. The game director mentioned that the team initially considered making him the main character of this new adventure, but felt that battle-hardened Leon wouldn’t fit the role of a vulnerable horror protagonist.
Honestly, that statement feels like intentional trolling from Capcom. All the rumors suggest Leon will still appear in the game as a secondary protagonist for more action-heavy sequences, and it seems like the devs are trying to throw players off. Why bring up Leon specifically — and not, say, Chris Redfield? Seems suspicious, doesn’t it?
You can find more details about Resident Evil Requiem in our full article. The game is set to release on February 27, 2026.
