Hollow Knight: Silksong is a new Metroidvania that proved to be one of the most popular games of September 2025. Fans of the genre appreciated the thoughtful level design, improved mechanics, and challenging difficulty. But you can make the game even better with user-made modifications. We've collected the most interesting ones in this article.
Mods for Hollow Knight: Silksong don't add new levels or fundamentally alter the gameplay. However, they do allow you to adjust the difficulty, slightly tweak the interface, add multiplayer modes, and much more.
How to install mods on Hollow Knight: Silksong
- Download the utility BepInEx and install it.
- Download and unzip the archive with the mod.
- Move the contents to the BepInEx/plugins folder.
- Launch the game.

Which part of the Hollow Knight series did you like the most?
Health Bar and Damage
This mod doesn't simplify the basic gameplay of Silksong, but it does allow you to see the health bar of enemies and the power of your attacks. This will give you an idea of how strong each enemy is and easily calculate how many direct hits it takes to kill a bug.
Disabling Double Damage
After installing this mod, enemies will only deal damage equal to one mask instead of two. This mod does not affect dangerous objects in the level.
Increasing the power of your attacks
With this mod, you can make your attacks even more powerful. By default, each attack is twice as effective, but this value can be changed.
Immortality and Health Regeneration
Playing the game with immortality mode enabled is boring. However, you can become invulnerable for a while to overcome a particularly difficult stage.
Installation instructions:
- Unzip the Melonloader archive and copy its contents to the game's root folder.
- Create a Mods directory in the game's folder.
- Download the mod archive and unzip it.
- Copy the InvincibleMod.dll file to the Mods folder.
- Launch Hollow Knight: Silksong.
If you need simple health regeneration, use another mod.
A compass that always works
Allows you to keep the compass turned on without having to equip it in your inventory. This allows you to equip another item in the empty slot. There are two options to choose from: with and without a magnet.
Installation instructions:
- Download the mod archive and unzip it.
- Find the Managed folder, which is located in the game directory. By default, its address is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hollow Knight Silksong.
- Make a backup copy of the Assembly-CSharp.dll file.
- Copy the contents of the mod archive to the Managed folder and replace them.
Free Prayer Beads
A downside to the game is the urgent need to farm beads. If you don't want to waste time on this, use our modification. It allows you to add new prayer beads simply by pressing F3.
An alternative option is to double the number of prayer beads you receive.
Free Camera, TeleportationMe and Cheats
Allows you to enable free camera mode for navigating the game's levels. You can move the main character, Hornet, to any location you want. The mod also includes other features similar to free leveling, which can be considered cheats. Press F3 to open the menu.
If you simply want to automatically teleport to the location of your death, use another mod.
Multiplayer and Co-op
The first mod unlocks PvP battles with other players.
Installation and launch instructions:
- Download the mod archive.
- Unzip it to the game folder.
- Enter multiplayer mode.
- Create a room, then invite other players (or join yourself).
- Wait until everyone is on your server, then join the game.
The second modification allows you to play the game in co-op mode.
Installation and launch instructions:
- Download BepInEx 5 and unzip it to the game's root folder.
- Download the mod archive and unzip it to the Silksong root directory.
- Launch the game.
- Click enable multiplayer.
- Find the desired friend in the list, right-click their name, and select "Join Game."
Unlocking all abilities and available tools
If you don't want to waste time leveling up, use this mod. It allows you to unlock all skills in the game at once.
To unlock all tools, install another mod.
Rosary Beads will no longer disappear after death
This modification will appeal to those who don't want to lose their rosary beads even after two consecutive deaths. They will always be found where you died first.
