VGTimes interview with GIGABYTE representatives at CES 2026: the top-tier GIGABYTE RTX 5090 graphics card and the "wooden" motherboard

Among PC and computer hardware manufacturers at CES 2026, GIGABYTE also made its presence felt. VGTimes editor-in-chief Rodion Ilin spoke with company representatives to learn more about the new products they brought to the show. These include a prebuilt PC, a new graphics card, and a motherboard.

VGTimes: Can you tell us what you’re showcasing here at CES?

Gracy Lu, GIGABYTE representative: Of course. Here we’re showing a PC built on the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D platform, equipped with an RTX 5090 graphics card. What you see here is a demonstration of AI video generation. The GPU’s Tensor Cores help accelerate this process, and the key point is to show that our RTX GPUs are not only about graphics, but also about enabling powerful AI workloads to run faster and more efficiently thanks to dedicated AI hardware.

At the same time, the system maintains very stable performance thanks to reliable power delivery and a high-end cooling solution.

VGTimes: How do you see AI improving video creation today? Is it a real breakthrough, or more of a marketing trend?

Gracy Lu: I’d say the biggest difference is response time. This particular system is still being finalized, but once it’s ready, it will run NVIDIA’s built-in AI video generation application. You’ll be able to enter a script describing the image you want to generate, and there’s also a video mode.

Gracy Lu shows the PC build

After you input your description and run the script, the system can generate an image and a three-second video in roughly ten seconds. It’s extremely fast. There’s no subscription fee, no need for cloud storage, fewer limitations overall, and better output quality. In the end, it’s also more cost-effective.

In what field AI acceleration most important to you?

Results

VGTimes: Looking at the graphics card itself, it’s massive.

Gracy Lu: Yes.

VGTimes: Is this size becoming a problem, or is it something gamers simply have to accept?

Gracy Lu: Our main priority is overall performance. At the same time, many gamers care about aesthetics. You can see RGB lighting on the GPU and the RAM, temperature displays, and lighting effects throughout the case.

A lot of visitors come to our booth and comment on how good the RGB lighting looks. Many gamers enjoy having a large PC on their desk that they can see every day, running with lighting effects they like. For most of them, this isn’t really a problem.

VGTimes: What kind of cooling is required for GPUs like these? They’re large and expensive.

Gracy Lu: In this system, we’re using our WINDFORCE air cooling solution. We also offer WATERFORCE liquid cooling, but it’s not demonstrated here. For this PC, air cooling is what’s used.

VGTimes: And that’s enough?

Gracy Lu: Yes, absolutely. This system has been running almost all morning and afternoon, and the temperature is around 43 degrees Celsius, which is completely normal.

The gaming system next to it has also been running for nearly half a day, reaching about 57–59 degrees under load. That’s during competitive gaming, which puts heavy stress on the GPU. Even then, the temperatures remain very good.

VGTimes: Is the price already known?

Gracy Lu: Yes. Everything you see here is already available online. You can purchase it right now.

VGTimes: So it’s already in stores?

Gracy Lu: Yes. This isn’t just a demo system — it’s already on sale through our website.

We also have a newer graphics card here — the RTX 5090 Infinity. You can see it just behind us.

VGTimes: Could you tell us more about it?

Gracy Lu: I’m not deeply familiar with this specific model. (Gracy Lu invites her colleague Tyler Wang to join the conversation.) Could you explain the RTX 5090 Infinity in more detail?

Tyler Wang: This is the new RTX 5090 Infinity with 32 GB of memory. One of its main selling points is that it’s much more compact compared to the standard top-tier RTX 5090, while still delivering the same level of performance.

As you can see, it uses two main fans instead of the usual three. There’s also a small auxiliary fan in the middle, hidden under the plastic shroud.

Another design difference is that all side vents are closed on this model. Unlike traditional designs, there’s no airflow through the sides. This allows for more controlled airflow through the main cooling path, which significantly improves cooling efficiency and makes it possible to use only two fans.

Despite the compact design, cooling performance remains on par with our top-tier RTX 5090 models.

VGTimes: When will it be available?

Tyler Wang: I need to double-check, but it should be around Q1 — most likely February.

VGTimes: February. And that’s a global launch?

Tyler Wang: Yes. If you’d like, I can also show you some of our new motherboards. We have a new wood-themed motherboard right here.

VGTimes: Is it brand new?

Tyler Wang: Yes, it’s brand new. X870E AERO X3D WOOD. It includes all the features from our top-tier motherboard lineup, such as X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, M.2 EZ-Flex, M.2 EZ-Latch, and BIOS-level Wi-Fi driver support.

The main highlight of this model is its textured design. It looks like real wood, but it’s actually made of plastic. Using real wood could raise safety concerns in high-temperature environments, but our R&D team did an excellent job with coatings and engravings to achieve an authentic wood-like feel. With the growing popularity of wood-themed PC builds, this motherboard is designed to visually match wooden cases, allowing users to create a fully cohesive build — from the internal components to the exterior.

That’s one of the new products we’re showcasing here.

We thanked the GIGABYTE team for their time and wrapped up the interview.

VGTimes has been operating since 2011 and during this time has attended dozens of exhibitions and festivals where our journalists gathered numerous exclusive materials. For example, in 2019 we attended a closed Cyberpunk 2077 showing at gamescom, in 2017 we prepared a photo report from WG Fest, in 2020 we were at Central Asia's largest gaming event CAGS, and we also visited "IgroMir" several times, where we saw Hideo Kojima and other famous developers. Last year, we traveled to the land of the rising sun for TGS 2024, where we were amazed by the scale of the event. And this year we saw with our own eyes one of Asia's major gaming exhibitions — ChinaJoy in Shanghai and gamescom asia in Bangkok.
