The game takes place in a vast, unnamed castle, where the player assumes the role of a prisoner who awakens in a cell surrounded by undead, monstrous creatures, and deadly traps. The only goal is to escape alive. Death in Decrepit is not final: each defeat returns the character to a different cell, gradually opening new routes and allowing players to better understand the interconnected structure of the castle.
