Ermolaev Alexey

State of Play is a Sony conference held several times a year. It showcases projects from both the Japanese company's internal studios and third-party developers. These include PlayStation 5 games, multiplatform games, and PC ports. In this article, we've compiled the highlights from the event, which took place on the night of February 13, 2026.

God of War Trilogy Remake

A remake of the original trilogy God of War has been released. The entire Santa Monica studio is working on it. It is responsible for all the key games in the series. The project is in early development, so little information is available yet. For example, it's unknown whether all the parts are planned to be combined into one or whether we'll see three separate releases.

God of War: Sons of Sparta

In addition to the remake of Kratos's first adventures, the spin-off God of War Sons of Sparta was shown. This is a 2D action platformer that follows the youth of the series' protagonist and his brother, Deimos. The game is now available on PlayStation 5.

Untitled John Wick Game

The John Wick films look like a ready-made foundation for a high-quality action film. It looks like that's exactly what we'll get in the near future. The trailer showed off the signature gun fu using pistols, improvised objects, and fists. The trailer looks like it's from a new movie starring Keanu Reeves, which is a compliment to the game. However, its release date is still unknown.

Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem has released its fourth trailer. Gameplay for Leon and Grace is shown, in first- and third-person perspectives. We'll be returning to Raccoon City and visiting the police station from the second game in the series. The video also contains plot spoilers, which we won't mention. The release is February 27th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

Control Resonant

Gameplay from the second game in the Control series was shown. It takes place in a warped Manhattan inhabited by terrifying monsters. To fight them, players use an arsenal of melee weapons and unique abilities. We'll be exploring an open world and combat like a full-fledged hack-and-slash game. A distinctive feature of the game is the ability to change gravity—you can latch onto any wall, allowing you to walk on it as if it were a floor. Control Resonant is scheduled for release in 2026.

007 First Light

007 First Light has received a new story trailer. Although it's being developed by IO Interactive, it's nothing like Hitman, and more reminiscent of high-quality third-person shooters in the vein of Max Payne. We think it's worth checking out for anyone missing games in this genre, regardless of your feelings about James Bond. The release is May 27th.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Konami continues to revive its iconic series. After Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid, it's time for Castlevania. The new game is a direct sequel to the third installment, which was released back in 1989. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is a 2D action platformer with stylish graphics in the spirit of modern cartoons. It will be released in 2026.

Kena Scars of Kosmora

A sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been announced. Judging by the gameplay footage, we're in for a Souls-like and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild hybrid with pleasant cartoonish graphics in the spirit of Pixar projects. Release date: 2026 for PC and PlayStation 5.

Ghost of Yotei Legends

On March 10th, a free DLC called Legends will be released for Ghost of Yotei. This co-op mode will feature battles with massive bosses and survival against hordes of enemies in a fantasy setting. A similar DLC was previously released for Ghost of Tsushima.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

On March 19th, Hideo Kojima's latest game will no longer be a PlayStation 5 exclusive and will be released on PC. Support for ultrawide monitors, upscaling, and DualSense controller capabilities is announced. We covered Death Stranding 2: On the Beach in more detail in our big review.

4:LOOP

We showed gameplay of 4:LOOP, a co-op action game with roguelike elements, in which we fight aliens. One of the creators of Left 4 Dead is involved in the development. To defeat enemies, you'll need to use your wits, distract them, and shoot at their weak points. The project will be released on PS5 and PC. The release date has not yet been announced.

Pragmata

Capcom's long-suffering action game Pragmata has received a release date of April 24th. The trailer showed one of the game's locations — a futuristic New York City abandoned by humans. You won't be exploring it alone, but with a little girl. The enemies are strange robots that resemble humans but move on all fours. The demo is available for download now.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

The classic vampire action game Legacy of Kain: Defiance from Crystal Dynamics is getting a remaster. In addition to improved graphics, they promise to bring back some content that was cut during development, including additional levels. Unfortunately, the final chapter of the legendary series doesn't look like a modern game — it feels like it was made twenty years ago. The remaster will be released on March 3rd on PS4 and PlayStation 5.

Legacy of Kain: Ascendance

A 2D pixelated action platformer that's more reminiscent of the classic Castlevania games than Legacy of Kain. It's sure to be a good choice for genre fans, but it's unlikely to appeal to everyone else. The release is scheduled for March 31st, 2026.

Brigandine Abyss

A new game in the series, the first installments of which were released on the original PlayStation. Brigandine Abyss is a turn-based strategy game with graphics styled after 90s anime. The game will be released on PS5 in 2026.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round

On June 25th, a remaster of Dead or Alive 6 will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The latest installment in the fighting game series, known for its beautiful girls, racy costumes, and realistic body physics, is set to release. In addition to the standard version of the game, a free-to-play version with a limited number of available fighters will be available.

New Dead or Alive game

In addition to the remaster of the sixth game, a new game in the Dead or Alive series was announced. However, nothing is known about it yet, other than that it will be released on PlayStation 5.

Neva: Prologue

The colorful platformer Neva, which looks like it was painted with watercolors, will receive an expansion. Essentially, it's a prequel to the main story. The release date is February 19th.

Сrimson Moon

The co-op Souls-like game Crimson Moon has been announced. Its appearance is vaguely reminiscent of the first Darksiders, and its gameplay is reminiscent of the original Dark Souls. Even the parry animations and boss special attacks are executed exactly like in FromSoftware's cult project. The release is scheduled for 2026.

Beast of Reincarnation

This souls-like game is reminiscent of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, both in appearance and gameplay. For example, the characteristic ringing sound when blocking attacks has been faithfully reproduced. Judging by the trailer, we'll be offered some interaction with the white wolf as the protagonist's ally. Beast of Reincarnation will be released on August 4, 2026, on PS5.

Yakoh Shinobi Ops

An isometric stealth action game set in fantasy Japan. Like in the Commandos: Behind Enemy Line or Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive series, you'll need to keep an eye on your enemies' line of sight, eliminate them one by one, or find alternate routes. Occasionally, you'll have to escape from particularly dangerous enemies. The game will be released in 2027.

Project Windless

A spectacular action game with dozens of enemies on screen and a pleasantly realistic image, in which you play as a fighting rooster. The gameplay of Project Windless will be reminiscent of the God of War series. The release date has not yet been announced.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

A spiritual successor to Star Wars: Episode 1 — Racer, which is often included in top Star Wars games. The trailer looks impressive – there's a sense of high speed, and the tracks evoke locations from the early episodes of George Lucas's space saga. The ability to destroy your opponent mid-race is also a plus. Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be released in 2026.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots remained a PlayStation 3 exclusive for 18 years, meaning it was unavailable on other platforms. As a reminder, this console is not backwards compatible with the PS4 or PS5. However, with the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, it will be available on all modern devices. The collection will also include Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which plays a key role in the series' overall storyline. It's worth noting that these are simple remasters, not full-fledged remakes. Master Collection Vol. 2 will be released on August 27.

Silent Hill: Townfall

The new installment in the Silent Hill series will be a first-person horror game, similar to Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. The protagonist is stuck in a time loop and is trying to find a way out of a creepy fishing town. The game will be released in 2026.

Rev. Noir

A dynamic hack-and-slash game with cute anime girls and a pretense of deeper meaning. The plot revolves around the protagonist's amnesia and his desperate attempts to save the world from destruction. A release date has not yet been announced.

Marathon

Gameplay was shown for Bungie's Extraction shooter Marathon, set in the near future. The game resembles a hybrid of Destiny and Escape from Tarkov. It will be available for trial on March 5th.

Big Walk

A cute co-op adventure where you play as quirky creatures. The focus is on exploring the world and solving puzzles together. Big Walk will be released in 2026.

Saros

We showed gameplay of Saros, a third-person action game developed by Housemarque, the creators of Returnal. In addition to standard firearms, you need to use special abilities to defeat enemies, including both passive skills and powerful attack moves. Otherwise, this is a standard representative of the genre. The game will be released on April 30, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
