Then came Dumb & Dumber, The Mask, Liar Liar, and other comedies. At the same time, Jim Carrey also starred in serious films, such as The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Since around 2017, a sharp decline in the actor's activity has been noticeable. There are many reasons for this, from a decline in popularity to Carrey's own statements about reconsidering his values. For example, he devotes a lot of time to painting and sculpting. Over the past eight years, Jim has only appeared in the TV series Kidding and the trilogy Sonic the Hedgehog.

During his film career, Jim Carrey has never been nominated for an Oscar, although the actor himself has admitted that he would like to win one. Conspiracy theorists believe that it was precisely for such statements that they decided to get rid of Carrey. He is now in the recovery period, which is expected to last up to six months. This could also explain the changes in Carrey's facial expressions—they are now limited due to the effects of cosmetic procedures. A similar effect can be caused by simple Botox injections, which are also noticeable on the actor's face. In any case, the muscles haven't yet harmonized with the nerve fibers, so they don't always move naturally. This is especially striking compared to Jim Carrey's rich facial expressions in his early work, which is what made him famous worldwide.

It's also worth considering that changes in appearance are influenced by natural aging and weight fluctuations. Furthermore, the same person can look different depending on the lighting.

Alexis Stone, a man known for impersonating famous people, joined the discussion. On his social media account, he shared a photo of a mask supposedly used to make him look like Jim Carrey. It's captioned "Alexis Stone as Jim Carrey in Paris," implying that this man won the Cesar Award instead of the actor. Frankly, this theory is also highly dubious.
