The original The Sims with all expansions unexpectedly appeared on Steam. The 2000 game can now be purchased legally, and it will work on modern operating systems. If you want to experiment with its features, use cheats. In our article, you can see the full list of codes.
Family-related cheats
They allow you to quickly change the parameters of your active family, the characters, and the appearance of all its members. In addition, you will affect their home.
- edit_char — open the character creation screen.
- photoalbum on/off — show/hide the photo album.
- autonomy (number from 1 to 100) — change the level of characters' free will.
- draw_routes on/off — show the path of the selected character.
- history — create a family history in a file.
- import file — import a family from the specified file.
- house file — import a house from the specified file.
- visitor_control — control guests on the active lot.
- house (family name) — automatically load the specified family.
- water_tool — turn the lot into an island surrounded by water.
Money codes
With their help, you can instantly receive a large sum. It will allow you to meet all your family's needs.
- klapaucius or rosebud — get 1000 simoleons into the family budget.
- money (number) — set how much money the active family will have.
Magic cheats
Yes, there are spells in The Sims, just like in Harry Potter. Cheats allow easy access to charms and wands needed for their use.
- magic_tokens (number from 1 to 20000) — get the specified number of magic bucks.
- allingreid — get all the ingredients for charging and enchanting the magic wand.
Time-affecting codes
You can set the exact time in the game. If desired, you can speed up or slow down all the actions in your city.
- set_hour (number from 1:00 to 00:59 or from 1 to 24) — set a specific time.
- sim_speed (number from -1000 to 1000) — change the game speed.
Cheats related to sound, camera, and animations
They allow you to view events in The Sims from a new perspective. This opens up more room for experimentation.
- preview_anims on/off — view or disable animations.
- music — toggle music.
- sound — toggle sound.
- cam_mode — toggle camera mode.
- rotation (number from 0 to 3) — rotate the camera.
- soundevent — play a sound effect.

These cheats expand the possibilities of controlling various aspects of the game. You will see functions that were only available to developers.
- interests — view character traits.
- refresh_textures — refresh textures and restore bitmaps on all player-controlled characters.
