The Sims 2 with all DLCs has suddenly appeared on Steam. The appearance of the game has not changed since 2004, but now it works on modern operating systems. If you want to experiment with its features, you can use the cheats from our article.
How to enter codes in The Sims 2
- Start the game.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+C simultaneously. A console should appear.
- Enter a cheat from our list.
- Press Enter to activate it.
Main commands
They allow you to solve the financial problems of Sims, disable aging, and adjust their height. You can also move any objects in the game and expand the building possibilities.
- Kaching — add 1000 simoleons to your Sims.
- motherlode — add 50,000 simoleons to the Sims' account.
- Moveobjects on/off — move objects that cannot be moved by default. You can overlay them on each other.
- aging on/off — enable or disable aging for Sims.
- StretchSkeleton (number) — change the Sim's height (the number 0.5 reduces their height by half, 2.0 makes them much taller).
- boolprop lotWater [true or false] — keep or remove water in the selected lot.
- boolprop lotTerrainPaints [true or false] — keep or remove "colored" floor.
- boolprop showFloorGrid [true or false] — enable or disable the grid without building or buying mode.
- boolprop objectShadows [true or false] — keep or remove shadows on objects.
- boolProp guob [true or false] — enable or disable the function where walls "cut" your Sim.
- boolprop locktiles [true or false] — keep or remove the ability to place floor tiles outside the lot (like on the road).
- boolprop reflectionWithExtraViewer [true or false] — remove or keep reflections that appear in mirrors.
- boolprop renderSelectedSimLevel [true or false] — enable or disable the invisibility of other Sims when your Sim is on the same floor with them.
- boolprop renderInsideObjectOnlyo.nselectedSimLevel [true/false] — remove or keep the ability for objects to appear on the same floor as your Sim.
- BoolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation [true or false] — rotate any object by 45 degrees (using keys).
- boolprop constrainFloorElevation (true or false) — allow changing the height of floors.
- SetHighestAllowedLevel [level] — build more than five floors.
- ChangeLotZoning [residential |X community |X greek |X dorm |X secretsociety |X hotel |X apartmentbase |X apartmentsublot |X secretwitchlot] — change the type of lot you are in.
- roofslopeangle (numbers from 15 to 75) — set the slope angle of all roofs on the lot in build mode.
- DeleteAllAwnings — destroy all awnings on the lot
- DeleteAllFences — destroy all fences on the lot
- DeleteAllHalfWalls — destroy all half-walls on the lot
- DeleteAllObjects [Doors/Windows/Stairs] — delete all windows, doors, stairs on the lot
- DeleteAllWalls — delete all walls on the lot
- BoolProp dormSpecificToolsDisabled [true or false] — allows building and demolishing walls in a dormitory
- apartmentBuildBuyRestrictions [on/off] — allows using buy and build mode in apartments
- boolProp aptSubLotSpecificToolsDisabled false — grants access to all objects outside your apartment
- boolProp aptBaseLotSpecificToolsDisabled false — allows rebuilding walls in your apartment
- boolprop renderOpaqueUI [true or false] — remove or restore transparency on the control panel.
- boolprop lotTerrainCanvas [true or false] — change the color of the grass.
- boolprop displayLookAtBoxes [true or false] — show or hide boxes on Sims' faces.
- boolprop allObjectLightsOn [true or false] — illuminate objects only when used. Works with the refrigerator, TV, and other objects Sims interact with.
- floatprop particleDensity 1.000000 — increase the green cloud over spoiled food.
- boolprop lotInfoAdvancedMode [true or false] — show lot information.
- boolprop unevenTilesFloorable [true or false] — activate invisibility of tiles on sloped terrain.
- Help — open the list of most codes. Note that it will not be complete.
- Exit — close the console.
- Expand — expand and lock the console. Press the "~" or "x" key, then Enter.
- AddneigbortoFamilycheat [on/off] — add NPC to the Sims list. To do this, hold SHIFT and click on the desired character with the left mouse button.
- Forcetwins — allow a female Sim to have twins.
- plumbBobToggle on/off — turn the plumbob above the Sim's head on or off.
- deleteAllCharacters — delete all Sims in the town.
- TerrainType Desert/Temperate/Dirt/Concrete — switch landscapes (desert or vegetation).
- boolprop displayNeighborhoodProps [true/false] — remove props, towers, mountains, towers.
- boolprop displayNeighborhoodRoads [true/false] — remove roads.
- boolprop displayNeighborhoodFlora [true/false] — remove trees, bushes, and other plants.
- boolprop displayNeighborhoodWater [true/false] — remove water bodies.
- boolprop displayLotImposters [true/false] — remove houses. You will simply stop seeing them, the buildings remain where they were.
- boolprop displayNeighborhoodRoadsWithModel [true/false] — remove bridges.
- boolprop lotTerrainLighting [true/false] — remove lighting when moving the mouse.
- boolprop carsCompact [true/false] — add more car varieties.
- boolprop ShowLotPackageFilename [true/false] — show the house file name when moving the mouse over the lot.
- boolprop nhoodWaterReflection [true/false] — turn water reflection on or off.
- boolProp carsOnRight [true/false] — cars will move on the left or right side of the road.
Additional Codes
To activate these cheats, you first need to enter the command intProp enablePostProcessing true
- intProp censorGridSize [number from 0-8] — set the number of blocks in the censor grid. The number 0 removes it.
- boolProp simShadows [true or false] — turn shadows for Sims on or off.
- intProp maxNumOfVisitingSims [number from 1 to 8] — set the number of guests at a party. This code can only be used in the neighborhood view mode.
- boolProp snapObjectsToGrid true/false — place an object on the grid (true) or off it, i.e., not aligned to the field squares (false).
- faceBlendLimits on/off — turn face asymmetry on or off during child creation.
- floatProp tvVolume — change the TV volume.
Codes for Video Creation
These cheats will help you make clips featuring your Sims. It's a kind of video editor analog. To work with it, you need to enter the command BoolProp enablePostProcessing [true].
- Slowmotion (number from 0 to 8) — slow down the game speed (0 — normal speed, 8 — slowest).
- Bloom (r g b x) — create a cinematic look, tinting the picture with special shades. Here "r", "g", and "b" are the color scale (from 0 to 255), and "x" is the amount of color: from 0 to 255.
- Vignette (centerx centery X) — create a cinematic view with a sharp focus on the object and a blurred background (centerx centery — coordinates of the center, X — degree of blurring).
- Filmgrain (0-1) — add graininess.
- Letterbox (0-0.4) — create a film of the specified size.
Codes for The Sims 2: Nightlife
These cheats are related to the expansion "Nightlife".
- unlockCareerRewards — unlock access to all career rewards.
- maxMotives — maximize all needs of active Sims on the lot, including guests.
- motiveDecay on/off — turn the decay of Sims' needs on or off.
- aspirationPoints # — allow obtaining more expensive reward objects for Aspiration points.
- lockAspiration on/off — disable or enable the reduction of Aspiration points for all Sims on the lot.
- roofslopeangle (number from 15 to 75) — set the slope angle of all roofs on the lot in build mode.
- showHeadlines on/off — make thought bubbles invisible.
- aspirationLevel (number from 0 to 5) — set the Aspiration level.
- agesimcheat on/off — set a Sim's age.
Codes for The Sims 2: Pets
These cheats are related to the DLC named "Pets".
- boolprop ControlPets [on/off] — enable control over pets.
- boolprop DisablePuppyKittenAging [true/false] — allows kittens and puppies not to age.
- boolprop PetActionCancel [true/false] — ability to stop any actions of pets.
- boolprop PetsFreeWill [true/false] — enables or disables free will for pets.
Codes for The Sims 2: Seasons
These two cheats are related to the expansion "Seasons".
- bugJarTimeDecay — code for the immortality of fireflies in a jar.
- No Social Worker For Hot Or Cold — the social worker can no longer take your child if they are too cold or too hot.
Code for The Sims 2 Bon Voyage
- changelotzoning hotel — enable the ability to build a hotel.
Code for The Sims 2 Free Time
- modifyNeighborhoodTerrain on/off — allows changing the level of the land plot.
The algorithm is as follows:
- Mark the land plot with the cursor that you want to raise or lower.
- Press "[" or "]" to raise or lower this land plot. To flatten it, press "R".
Cheats for The Sims 2: Apartment Life
Codes that were added in the expansion Apartment Life.
