Spring has come to an end, and we've put together the brightest cosplay from recent times. In May, Mortal Kombat 2 hit theaters, so many girls turned to characters from that universe. The best works made it into our article. You'll also find beauties from Heroes of Might and Magic V, characters from The Boys, blondes from the GTA 6 trailer, and much more. What unites these looks is precision of execution, attention to detail, and the charisma of the models themselves. Once again, we're amazed at how vivid and diverse fan culture can be.
Sonya Blade from Mortal Kombat (2011) by Tniwe
Mortal Kombat 2 is a direct sequel to the 2021 film. It once again features iconic heroes and heroines from the original game series, including Liu Kang, Raiden, Kano, and Sonya. In the sequel they are joined by Kitana, Jade, Shao Kahn, and Johnny Cage. The film divided audiences — some praised it enthusiastically, others criticized it. If you're still on the fence about watching it, check out our Mortal Kombat 2 review. The cosplay of Miss Blade was created by Tniwe.

Ada Wong from the Resident Evil 4 Remake by Kaya Nilson
Rumors are circulating that a story DLC featuring Ada will be released for Resident Evil Requiem. There's already a precedent — the DLC called Separate Ways for the Resident Evil 4 remake, where the developers ported to a new engine the mini-campaign from the PS2 version of the original game. Through that mini-campaign we learned what Miss Wong was up to while Leon was trying to rescue Ashley. The look of the female special agent was brought to life by Kaya Nilson.

Maria from Silent Hill 2 by LiltiCos
Sometimes it feels like Konami is trying to follow Capcom's lead and develop Silent Hill along the same lines as Resident Evil — alternating new entries with remakes of classics. Many had hoped that the Silent Hill 2 remake would receive a DLC called Born From a Wish, playable as Maria. It's something of an equivalent to Separate Ways mentioned in the previous section, though not as pivotal to the overall story. But the chances of seeing a story DLC now are slim, since Bloober Team's main efforts are focused on remastering the original 1999 game. The cosplay of Maria was created by LiltiCos. Note that our site has a Silent Hill 2 remake review.

Skarlet from Mortal Kombat (2011) by Lada Lyumos
In 2011, Mortal Kombat was released — simultaneously a reboot of the series and a remake of the original trilogy. The initial version of the fighter contained no entirely new characters, if you don't count Cyber Sub-Zero, who was perceived as a variation of a familiar hero. Skarlet, however, can be considered a fully new fighter. She was included as paid DLC. This girl is a golem created from the blood of fallen warriors. She was meant to watch over the necromancer Quan Chi and kill him should he decide to betray the emperor. That never came to pass. After Shao Kahn's death, she joined Reiko's allies. The look of Skarlet was brought to life by Lada Lyumos.

Daughter of Earth from the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 expansion "Tribes of the East" by Oichi
On April 30, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era launched in early access. It received positive reviews and was generally well received by players. However, it can hardly be called innovative, as it draws on ideas from Heroes III and Heroes V. For example, one can note the ability to develop creatures in two different directions — a feature first used in the "Tribes of the East" expansion for Heroes of Might and Magic 5. That expansion introduced the orc race with charming shamanesses who, upon upgrade, can become Daughters of Earth. A cosplay of one of them was created by Oichi. More about the new Heroes we covered in our Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era preview.

Blonde from the GTA 6 Trailer by Murzik
Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated game of 2026. Its release has been postponed multiple times, but according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, this won't happen again and the project will arrive on store shelves on November 19. Interestingly, there is very little quality cosplay of Lucy and other beauties from GTA 6. Murzik brought to life the look of the Blonde from the first trailer.

Jade from Mortal Kombat (2011) by Zefirka Natsuki
Mortal Kombat fans predictably had questions about Jade in the 2026 film. Actress Tati Gabrielle does indeed look quite different from the game version of her character. However, her role is roughly the same as in recent entries in the series — she acts as a mercenary tasked with keeping an eye on Kitana, but ultimately becomes her friend. The cosplay of Jade was created by Zefirka Natsuki.

Firecracker from The Boys by Nancy
On May 20, the final episode of The Boys aired. The ending provoked mixed reactions — many viewers felt it all wrapped up a bit too neatly.
In 2027, the prequel series Vought Rising will begin airing, focusing on the early days of Soldier Boy and other superheroes of the 1950s. Among the characters is Stormfront, who was known as Liberty back in those days. The look of Firecracker from the later seasons of The Boys was brought to life by Nancy.

2B from NieR: Automata by Katssby
An announcement for a NieR: Automata sequel seems like a logical step from Square Enix, given that the 2017 game was a genuine hit. What's surprising is only that it came 9 years after the original's release. In the interim, a remaster of Nier Replicant and an anime adaptation of Automata were released. The cosplay of android girl 2B was created by Katssby.

Nico Robin from One Piece by Sai Westwood
One Piece is a unique case in modern entertainment. Most live-action series based on anime turn out to be failures. However, Netflix's adaptation of Luffy's adventures turned out quite well — it attracted both manga fans and new viewers. Details are in our One Piece Season 2 review. The look of Nico Robin was brought to life by Sai Westwood. In the series, her role was played by Lera Abova.

Black Cat from Marvel Comics by Shproton
The roster of characters in Marvel Rivals expands with every update. And adding new heroines to this team shooter often causes a stir among female cosplayers. Indeed, in May there was a surprisingly large number of works featuring Felicia Hardy. Shproton created a cosplay of the classic Black Cat from the comics. Unfortunately, she has yet to appear in full-length Spider-Man films.

Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3 by Nova
Swen Vincke refused to release story DLC for Baldur's Gate 3. But it's possible that the publisher could entrust development to another studio — there are precedents in the industry. For example, the Forsaken Gods add-on for Gothic 3 was developed not by Piranha Bytes but by the Indian studio Trine Games. A DLC can also come out many years after the original game's release — as is the case with the Songs of the Past expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is due in 2027. The look of the tiefling Karlach was brought to life by Nova. Photographer — Kira.

Lara Croft from Tomb Raider: Underworld by Asami Gate
In the near future we'll be seeing many new projects featuring Lara Croft. A remake of the original 1996 game on Unreal Engine 5 has been announced, as has the next numbered entry, along with a series starring Sophie Turner in the lead role. This actress may be familiar to you as Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones. The cosplay of Lara from the 2008 game Tomb Raider: Underworld was created by Asami Gate. In that game, Miss Croft not only got soaked in water but also covered in mud, and sweated after intense sprints.

Spicy bonus: hearts from cosplayers
To wrap up the article we decided to talk about a new social media trend called The ButtHeart. The idea is that girls form the shape of a heart using their buttocks. In the case of cosplayers, you can easily recognize familiar heroines by their costumes and footwear.
Hot bonus:
For many girls, cosplay has ceased to be merely a hobby. It has become a full-fledged art form, where the idea, craftsmanship, and attention to detail all matter. That's precisely why the best works attract even those who don't follow the cosplay world: these looks inspire, amaze, and set new standards for everyone else.
