Defense Of The Ancients is a custom game for Warcraft 3, which later became not only a separate game, but also the ancestor of the MOBA genre.
The history of the mod began with another custom map for Starcraft. Fan Aeon64 used the built-in editor to create an Aeon of Strife map that could be played 4v4 and the map was divided into 4 lines.
This map became one of the most popular custom maps for Warcraft 3 and attracted a huge number of fans, and the MOBA genre is still popular thanks to Dota 2, League of Legends and Heroes of the Storm.

История мода началась с другой кастомной карты для Starcraft. Фанат Aeon64 с помощью встроенного редактора создал карту Aeon of Strife, в которой можно было играть 4 на 4, а карта была разделена на 4 линии.
