The alien is not a target here, but a killing machine, the result of an encounter with which is natural and fatal.
The atmosphere is designed so well that for emotional immersion you don’t need either the lights turned off or VR glasses. Sounds from a nearby air shaft make you twitch nervously; a beeping motion sensor is quite capable of causing a slight heart attack.
