Assassin's Creed Valhalla is an action game in the Scandinavian style, unlike any other game in the series. For a long time, the company has been trying to satisfy everyone: old and new fans.
So “Valhalla” is declared as a vessel in which there is both old and new. And, if you believe the first reviews, the developers pulled it off. Today, we will omit some details so as not to spoil important plot points.
The story that Ubisoft tells the player is truly entertaining. This is not a flat linear plot where we are an observer, but a well-written ''book'' where we become part of the story.
The characters are interesting to watch - the conflicts are written convincingly. The main character Eivor can be praised, I would call him the most interesting since Ezio from Assassin’s Creed II.
The combat system personally impressed me; it is filled with bright techniques and finishing moves. Killing enemies has become more interesting; on high difficulty you have to look for escape routes, convenient points for attack, enemy weak points and other auxiliary elements.
There are fewer fortresses, and the map is full of additional tasks that are surprisingly intriguing. Here you can capture a monastery, help in finding a runaway bride, play dice with a rogue monk, puzzles, old crypts, underwater caves, burned villages and much more.
Many role-playing elements have finally been gotten rid of. We said goodbye to enemy levels and a lot of pointless equipment. Now every loot is much more meaningful.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a successful game that amazed not only me, but also many critics. This is exactly what players wanted to see a couple of years ago. A good plot, well-written characters, a good combat system, and of course, indescribable views. They are simply amazing. Just look at the sunsets and sunrises while climbing a hill or mountain. Everything was done at the highest level.
The music deserves special attention; throughout the entire game, sailing on your own longship or traveling on foot, you will be accompanied by the best soundtracks dedicated to the Middle Ages and Vikings.
Hand on heart I can say that the game deserves your attention. In 34 hours, I didn’t even complete half the game, but I had enough stories to fill a book. Ubisoft managed to recreate the world of The Witcher. Whether it's bad or not is up to you to decide.
