The game takes place in 2035 and unfolds a new chapter in the iconic series, continuing the story directly after the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The world is teetering on the brink of chaos, and David Mason and his team face an enemy that uses fear as its main weapon. The campaign offers both single-player and full-fledged co-op for four players, with large-scale missions, cinematic inserts and a new Endgame mode for 32 participants. The global progression system combines experience and rewards from all modes - the campaign, multiplayer, zombies and Warzone are interconnected.
Multiplayer is focused on high dynamics and verticality, including 16 maps at launch, including both new arenas and reworked classics from Black Ops 2. The arsenal includes large Skirmish modes with 20 vs 20 battles, transport and windsuits, and the updated Omnimovement system makes movement more flexible and tactical. The Overclock System completes the picture, allowing you to customize perks and equipment right during battles.
The Zombies mode returns players to Dark Aether with a large-scale map and a new story, continuing the iconic line. Once again, the focus is on surviving against hordes of the undead, using vehicles and well-coordinated team play. In addition to this, Dead Ops Arcade 4 is released, offering an arcade take on the classic mode.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is not just the worst game in the series, but one of the weakest games of 2025. Even fans are better off skipping it.
