Best Shooter Games of All Time

We present to your attention a list of the best shooters of all time. The top includes both the best shooters of recent years, such as Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, and time-tested classic shooters like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Half-Life. The latter are great for low-end PCs, although the same "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." still looks quite decent.

The genre name "Shooter" comes from the English word shooter, which can be translated as "shooter" or "shooting game" (the term is still used by people who are far from video games). As is clear from the name, shooters often involve shooting. This is the main difference from action games or role-playing games.

However, the mechanics of a shooter fit well into any genre and setting. Therefore, almost any game where shooting is implemented and is one of the main elements of gameplay can be called a shooter. For example, Bioshock belongs to the genre of Immersive Sim, but it is also a good shooter.
