Games Darkest Dungeon All reviews Review from Diodor

This year I had the opportunity to play a really interesting game. I saw the gameplay of this game a long time ago and thought that this game was not worth watching. But then I bought it at a big discount on Steam. And damn it, why didn't I take it sooner?

In short, this is a dark fantasy, a medieval-style roguelike with its own gloomy, gothic atmosphere. In the game you need to complete basic tasks. The tasks are different: explore rooms, kill the boss, clear wards, fight in rooms. Before your next trip, prepare thoroughly. You buy food, torches, shovels, bandages... In general, everything you need. The game offers several locations: ruins, a nature reserve, a thicket, a bay and a dark dungeon. All locations have their own characteristics and you need to approach this consciously.

In my 47 hours in the game, I learned a lot. But he never dared to go into the darkest dungeon. Because I understand perfectly well that I’m not ready. The main thing in this game, in my opinion, is patience. After all, here you need to pump up and accumulate a lot of resources to improve buildings. Improvements in this game include family heirlooms, such as coats of arms, busts, portraits, bills of sale. In the end, after a successful or, conversely, unsuccessful campaign, you can visit a bar and reduce your hero’s stress level there. And not only in the bar...

Then it is necessary to monitor the health and stress bar of the heroes in battle. To be honest, a lot of things here depend not on health, but on the level of stress, because because of it, the hero can either let down the entire team or even die. There are cases of emotional upliftment, but rarely. If it happens, then you actually get some bonus in the damage of your character. Speaking of heroes...

Here you will definitely find your favorite, who will not easily deal huge damage, but will also become a kind of leader. You will take him everywhere, and then only where he will save the situation. Over time, you have several favorites and the list grows. But still, always remember that you have to sacrifice heroes in order to achieve the goal. Or run from the battlefield, if possible.

In short, I’ll say that I haven’t fully studied everything in the game myself, someone might get tired of it after 20 hours of gameplay or just get on their nerves a little. It all depends on the player himself and you need to remember that games are different and you decide what to play. So I recommend at least trying it. Worth the hours spent.
