I didn't like QUBE 1 at the time. An environment that seemed like a toy, very poor scripted physics that couldn’t be compared with the Source engine. But in the second part, the developers took into account most of the disadvantages and made a very strong product that will definitely appeal to you if you like to rack your brains both in terms of gameplay and (surprise) plot.
Graphically, the game has changed for the better, unlike the black and white world of the first part, everything here is rich and colorful, the sun is shining, there are spotlights, and all this without annoying bloom. Sometimes you just want to stop and look at all this beauty.
In terms of gameplay, the game differs from the original in that now you have to create the cubes yourself, there will be no ready-made combinations. You will definitely have to rack your brains, but this is alleviated by lighter cameras. Gone are the idiotic puzzles in the dark, instead giving out new mechanics such as sliding, magnetism, parkour on cubes. Not very good physics remained from the first part, objects behave extremely predictably, which is why sometimes you become severely stupid even though you did everything correctly, you just didn’t take into account a couple of nuances of local physics
In the first part there was also a plot, but due to the lack of subtitles and voiceovers it was understandable it’s vague, but here the writers went all out, first stirring up the intrigue with symbolism and at the end blowing the mind with the scale of what the main character got herself into. I cannot guarantee a complete understanding of the plot.
In general, I advise you if you have gone through Portal 2 with mods up and down and want something similar
