Ubisoft Toronto to assist in the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Ubisoft Toronto has joined forces with Ubisoft Montreal, the developers behind the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. The Canadian studio is expected to focus on the technical aspects of the project.
The remake's development was restarted in 2022, with Ubisoft Montreal taking over the reins. Previously, the project was handled by Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune in India, but they were removed from the project.
Despite the initial announcement in 2020, The Sands of Time Remake still lacks a release date.
Meanwhile, a 2D action roguelike titled The Rogue Prince of Persia, developed by the creators of the acclaimed Dead Cells, was recently released on Steam. The game received over 80% positive reviews but failed to gain significant traction amongst gamers, resulting in disappointing sales.
