BioWare studio head Gary McKay shared new details about Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Among other things, he talked about updated squad management mechanics and hinted at another antagonist.
Here are brief points from an interview with Gary McKay for IGN:
- The plot will center around the so-called «Veil» — a barrier between the physical world and the spiritual;
- Solas, as an antagonist, will seek to destroy her, which the player and his companions must prevent;
- In addition to Solas, another serious opponent will appear, probably of divine origin;
- The player will be able to take no more than two companions out of seven possible companions into the squad;
- To control your squad, a new ability wheel will appear, which will allow you to pause the battle and reselect actions for yourself or your companions;
- The main character will again be an original character like the Inquisitor, Guardian and Hawk;
- Each of the seven companions will be available for the novel, all of them coming from different factions.
As BioWare previously stated, Dreadwolf's subtitle was changed so as not to focus solely on Solas.
Previously, the studio announced that it would show the first gameplay of the new Dragon Age on the game's YouTube channel on June 11.
