Half-Life 2 Remaster Creators Show Off Gordon Freeman's New Look
Yesterday, a big presentation of Half-Life 2 RTX, an unofficial remaster of the cult shooter, took place. The developers shared new gameplay and screenshots with improved graphics, and also showed an updated design of Gordon Freeman.
This is the image that now adorns the themed GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card, released in honor of the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2. One of the designers at Orbifold Studios, which is responsible for the remaster, worked on the model.
Recall that Half-Life 2 RTX is being created as an advanced version of the 2004 game. The shooter will get various graphic improvements such as ray tracing and high-poly models, but the gameplay will remain the same.
Half-Life 2 RTX can already be added to the Steam wishlist, but there is still no release date for the project. The remaster will be free for owners of the original.
Yesterday, new rumors about the details of Half-Life 3 also appeared. It turned out that Valve hired veterans of the gaming industry for the development.
