Final previews of the RPG Avowed from Obsidian have appeared
Various game reviewers have released final previews of the RPG action Avowed from the creators of Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds. Overall, journalists had positive impressions of the game.
The IGN reviewer called the project a fun game in which NPCs do not treat the main character as the chosen one and can even rudely curse him out right away. Moreover, Avowed does not limit the player, allowing them to create chaos and destruction at will, so playing the «bad guy» will not be particularly difficult. The character editor is present, and it is quite diverse — you can make both an attractive face and something creepy in the spirit of Oblivion. The environment is also well-written, many NPCs can tell interesting stories during dialogue with them.
PC Gamer, in turn, dubbed the project «an exciting simulator», praising the flexible class system, interesting combat and even elements of immersion like in Deus Ex, with the ability to search every corner and climb anywhere. And the author of Eurogamer defined the project as a «fizzy RPG cocktail» with many archetypes from other role-playing games, a pleasant movement system with slides and dodges and Obsidian's signature humor.
Basically, journalists agreed that Avowed looks like a very promising project for 2025, which will appeal to RPG fans. The main advantage can be called the freedom of gameplay, where the player can build the fate of his character as he pleases.
Let us remind you that Avowed will be released on February 18, 2025 on PC and Xbox Series X / S, and will also appear in Game Pass.
Earlier, new gameplay of Avowed appeared based on an early build for reviewers.
