First look at Lara Croft in new board game Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos revealed
Iconiq Studios has unveiled some details about the upcoming board game Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos, which will launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in May 2025. Additionally, the first glimpse of the Lara Croft miniature has been revealed.
The creators promise gamers all the iconic elements of the series, including exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving. In Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos, Lara embarks on a journey to the island of Kairos to find a powerful artifact capable of «holding the reins of time». Along the way, she faces treacherous traps and a familiar enemy from Natla Technologies.
The game will feature several modes. For example, the Adventure Book Mode offers narrative quests with various scenarios and missions designed to last 20-60 minutes. The campaign mode, on the other hand, provides players with a «free-roaming map experience» with random quests and locations. The average playtime is around 3 hours.
Among the features, the creators highlight a crafting system that allows gamers to create powerful weapons, cool gear, and new abilities.
Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos is a solo game, but according to Iconiq Studios, gamers can invite friends to help solve puzzles together.
By the way, the PC version of Tomb Raider: Underworld and other games are currently available for free on Prime Gaming.
