CD Projekt RED: Geralt Will Officially Appear in The Witcher 4

Less than 24 hours have passed since CD Projekt RED finally gave an answer to the question that has long tormented fans. Geralt will indeed appear in the new The Witcher 4, but his role in the plot is still a mystery. Let us remind you that the main character will now be Ciri.

IGN confirmed from the developers that the old witcher will return in the new story. It is no coincidence that at the beginning of the trailer you can hear the phrase performed by the official «voice» of Geralt, Doug Cockle: «Time for a new saga. See you on the path».

According to the developers, nothing prevents Geralt from taking part in the events of The Witcher 4 again. Despite the fact that he officially retired to a well-deserved rest at a winery in Toussaint, the character is still alive. Moreover, in the novel "Season of Storms" by Andrzej Sapkowski, one of the characters later meets a witcher who looks like the old Geralt, although a whole century has passed since his death in the book saga.

It's funny, but shortly before the first cinematic of The Witcher 4 was shown, CD Projekt RED scolded Doug Cockle for rumors about Geralt's appearance. It is possible that this was a kind of PR campaign element.

After the trailer was released, CD Projekt RED shared the first details of the upcoming game, explaining the choice of Ciri for the role of the protagonist.
