«Too Hard»: The Author of Prey and Dishonored Couldn't Complete the System Shock Remake

It turns out that the System Shock Remake can challenge not only gamers — the creator of Prey and Dishonored, Raphael Colantonio, couldn't complete the game. He admitted this in a recent Quad Damage podcast.
This is a rather funny fact, since the original System Shock is considered the "father" of immersive simulators, on which Raphael Colantonio made his name. However, the remake from Nightdive Studios turned out to be beyond the game designer.
I tried the one that came out a year or two ago, I got stuck in cyberspace. That gameplay was too hard. I was frustrated by it. But the rest was really cool, until then. It was a fun experiment, but it was not the best part of the game. I was avoiding it as much as possible.
By the way, he once tested the original System Shock while working at Electronic Arts. Raphael Colantonio still considers that experience "fantastic", since at that time he was a big fan of Looking Glass games.
Earlier, the game designer admitted that he would be happy to return to the Dishonored series. However, for now these are nothing more than hypothetical plans. Also, a remake of System Shock 2 from the same Nightdive Studios will soon be released.
