Images of Canceled Tomb Raider Remake Leak Online, Featuring Lara Croft

Images of the canceled Tomb Raider: Anniversary remake, which was being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Virtuos Shanghai, have leaked online. The leak was shared by a user named ropir20606, who posted the materials on Archive.org.
The images showcase early renders and a model of Lara Croft.
According to an insider, the project was in development from 2019 to 2021 and was intended for modern platforms. During the development process, a decision was made to merge the old TRA engine with the engine from Rise of the Tomb Raider. This led to technical difficulties, ultimately resulting in the project's cancellation.
As a reminder, we previously reported on the release of the Tomb Raider 4–6 Remastered collection, which has received very positive reviews on Steam. You can check out our review here.
