Bethesda Unveils Real-Life Shield Saw from Doom: The Dark Ages and Shows It in Action

With the release of Doom: The Dark Ages just around the corner, Bethesda has unveiled another promo — this time featuring a real-life version of the game’s shield saw, brought to life and fully functional.
The weapon was crafted in collaboration with the AWE me workshop and features rotating blades powered by an engine, just like its in-game counterpart. In the promo video, the shield saw is put to the test against a five-liter plastic bottle — and slices through it with ease.
Bethesda also announced that the weapon will be donated to the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK, where it will be on public display from May 9 to May 16.
As a reminder, Doom: The Dark Ages launches on May 15 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and will be available on Game Pass from day one. Earlier in the marketing campaign, Bethesda showcased a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle inspired by the Doom Slayer, as well as a PC rig styled after the game’s brutal aesthetic.
