Insider: Rockstar Is Working on Remasters of GTA 4 and Max Payne 3

According to reputable insider Tez2, Rockstar Games is currently developing remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 4 and Max Payne 3 for modern platforms. The remaster of GTA 4 could arrive as early as this year.
Reportedly, Rockstar has been working on a GTA 4 port for about a year. Tez2 suggests this may be the reason behind the takedown of a fan-made GTA 5 mod that brought Liberty City into the newer engine. The studio might be aiming to reintroduce the iconic city to a new audience, especially since GTA 6 references Liberty City as the hometown of Lucia Caminos’ mother.
In addition, Rockstar is believed to be planning a remaster of Max Payne 3. Tez2 claims it could be released as part of a collection that includes remakes of the first two Max Payne games. If this is the case, the release is expected in 2026. The remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 are currently in development at Remedy Entertainment.
