Rumor: Canonical Harry Potter Characters May Appear in Hogwarts Legacy 2
Fans of the Wizarding World may be in for a nostalgic treat, as familiar faces from the Harry Potter books and films could return in Hogwarts Legacy 2. A recent job listing from Avalanche Software suggests the sequel may include iconic characters from the original franchise.
According to the narrative designer position posted on the studio’s website, the role involves not only creating new characters but also the opportunity to "bring in favorite characters from the existing canon and IP." This implies that well-known figures from both the books and movies could make an appearance—potentially indicating a shift to a more modern timeline in the sequel.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 is currently in early development. While the original game was set in the 1800s, this hint at canonical characters raises speculation that the sequel may inch closer to the era of Harry Potter himself.
Previously, Avalanche had been working on an enhanced version of the first game with new content and DLC, but the project was ultimately shelved. Recently, the developers also showcased the visual differences between the Nintendo Switch versions of Hogwarts Legacy across generations.
