It Looks Like Larian Studios May Have Teased Its Next Game After Baldur's Gate 3 (Updated)

Recently, the developers behind Baldur's Gate 3 revealed that they’re working on two ambitious new projects. A recent social media update from Larian Studios may have subtly hinted at a return to one of their own beloved franchises. Update: The head of the studio's publishing house reported that hopes for a quick announcement were premature.
The studio briefly changed the handle of their official account from @larianstudios to @divinity on X (former Twitter), sparking curiosity among observant fans. The name change was short-lived—they posted only once under the new tag before reverting it back. This led some players to suspect that Larian is preparing to announce a new Divinity project, and that the brief name switch was a test of their social media engagement.
As a reminder, the Divinity series is Larian’s original property and flagship franchise, dating back to 2002. The most recent entry, Divinity: Original Sin 2, was a major success and marked the studio's last release before shifting focus to the Dungeons & Dragons universe with Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023.
Incidentally, Baldur’s Gate 3 was recently involved in a small controversy after Wizards of the Coast released a line of extremely low-quality miniatures based on the game’s characters—much to the dismay of Larian themselves.
