New Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Teaser Features Return of Raul Menendez

The marketing campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is ramping up, with a new video unexpectedly released on the long-dormant cordisdie YouTube channel. The teaser appears to establish a canonical ending for Black Ops 2, over a decade after its release.
Titled "The Lesson," the video features none other than Raul Menendez, who delivers a cryptic line: "2025 was just the beginning. A necessary first step. Once again, you shall know fear." Notably, this is only the second video uploaded to the channel in 12 years, with the first teaser, "A New World," having debuted back in 2012.
The teaser strongly suggests that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 now has an official ending involving Raul Menendez, setting the stage for the next chapter. Black Ops 7 is expected to continue the storyline of Black Ops 2, picking up 10 years later with David Mason as the main protagonist.
It’s worth noting that Kamar de los Reyes, the actor behind Menendez in several Call of Duty titles, passed away in 2023.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is slated to release later this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game’s first trailer debuted at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.
