Despite the release of the beta version of the official modding tools for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players are being advised to temporarily avoid certain modifications. GSC Game World has published a list of add-ons that are currently incompatible with Patch 1.5.

Alongside the patch notes, the studio issued a separate warning for mod users. According to the notice, custom add-ons installed in the "~mods" folder, as well as several unofficial tools, may cause the game to break. These include:

  • UE4SS;
  • SimpleModLoader;
  • Fmodel;
  • UnrealPak;
  • UAssetGUI;
  • GIMP and other resource editors.

Following Patch 1.5, players are also strongly discouraged from using previously edited .ini files, applying optimization tweaks through third-party software, or enabling the in-game console and debugging tools. In the event of technical issues, the developers recommend disabling all mods entirely.

Hot on the heels of the latest update, one of the developers behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 released a series of lighthearted mods, adding characters like CJ from GTA: San Andreas, Shrek, and Thomas the Tank Engine into the game. Meanwhile, players discovered that the official modding toolkit weighs over 600 GB. Key details of Patch 1.5 can be found here.
