Insider: New Ghost Recon Set for 2026 Release, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake Coming Slightly Earlier

According to renowned insider and journalist Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming, an internal alpha test for the next Ghost Recon is scheduled to take place this year. New details have also emerged about the long-awaited remake of The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
The upcoming Ghost Recon is reportedly being developed under the codename Ovr. The game will shift toward a more military-sim approach with a first-person perspective and will center around a fictional conflict known as the "Naiman War." Based on Insider Gaming’s description of unreleased footage, the new entry draws comparisons to Modern Warfare and tactical shooters like Ready or Not.
The project is expected to remain in alpha for about 12 months and is planned to be officially revealed at Ubisoft Forward in 2026. The full release is reportedly scheduled for late that same year.
Henderson also provided an update on the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. Codenamed Rewind, the title is now in the alpha stage, with a planned release window before March 31, 2026.
