Hideo Kojima Shares Early Concept Art of Death Stranding 2 Characters in Business Attire

Hideo Kojima has unveiled what may be one of the earliest concept illustrations for Death Stranding 2, showing radically different versions of Sam and Fragile dressed in sleek business suits.
The striking change in style suggests the characters may have had entirely different roles in an earlier version of the game. As Kojima joked, it’s hard to imagine them hooking up the Chiral Network in outfits like these.
This is one of the rough sketches that Yoji [Yoji Shinkawa] did for me back in January 2020, based on the pre-pandemic version of the DS2 script, which had just been completed right before the pandemic hit. But after going through the pandemic, I ended up rewriting the entire script from scratch.
Death Stranding 2 launched on PlayStation 5 on June 26.
