New Borderlands 4 Trailer Introduces Rafa—One of the Four Vault Hunters

In the latest Borderlands 4 trailer, the developers unveiled a new playable character named Rafa—an exo-soldier and former member of the Tediore corporation. Rafa is one of the four Vault Hunters available in the game. He’s being positioned as the perfect choice for newcomers, combining traits from previous series heroes and offering a versatile arsenal for combat at any range.
Key features of Rafa:
- Deadframe Exosuit: Enables agile movement across the battlefield;
- Dual Arc-Knives: Two energy blades that change elemental effects and color, designed for close-quarters combat—including a sweeping area attack;
- Peacebreaker Cannons: Shoulder-mounted turrets that provide powerful support when facing groups of enemies;
- APOPHIS Lance: An energy weapon capable of blasting through clusters of foes with charged shots.
The developers plan to reveal all four heroes gradually, releasing a trailer, a short film, and a character page for each one. So far, only the Siren named Vex has received the full showcase, and now it’s Rafa’s turn.
Borderlands 4 is set to launch on September 12, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will release on October 3.
