Twitch Leadership Talks GTA 6 Online Mode, RP Servers, and PC Version

The German portal MeinMMO has published an interview with Twitch’s Chief Monetization Officer, Mike Minton, in which he discusses the platform’s upcoming promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6. According to Minton, the game will initially focus solely on single-player content, with multiplayer features—and a PC version—to follow later.

Minton revealed that Twitch is working closely with Rockstar Games on a large-scale marketing push that will begin the moment GTA 6 launches. He emphasized that the campaign will be the most ambitious in the platform’s history. The plan, at least at launch, is centered entirely around the single-player experience—multiplayer features will be added at a later stage, similar to how Rockstar rolled out GTA 5 Online.

First, the focus will be on the single-player campaign. That will be a key point. This game will likely be the biggest game of our lives, at least as we know it, and there will be a huge hype around it.

Then there will probably be a cycle around the online multiplayer at some point later, which will be an even more important segment in the life cycle of this game on Twitch because that’s where the magic begins to happen.

According to Minton, the PC version of GTA 6 will likely arrive after the launch of the online mode. So far, Rockstar has only officially confirmed the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Additionally, Rockstar and Twitch are reportedly discussing official RP (roleplay) servers for GTA 6, and even potential mod support. While no concrete details have been shared yet, these features may become part of the game’s long-term strategy to engage streamers and online communities.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Recently, an alleged early draft of the game’s script surfaced online, reportedly written back when Dan Houser was still involved in the project.
