It appears that Hangar 13 may already be working on the next installment in the Mafia franchise. Despite the upcoming release of Mafia: The Old Country, the studio is hiring a new team member to contribute to future developments in the series.
A recent job listing reveals that the studio is looking for a Principal AI Designer. While the position is tied to Mafia: The Old Country, it's worth noting that the game is just days away from release. The description also includes the line: "Craft new archetypes that fit the vision of a Mafia game. All the way from creative and technical design prototypes to enemy behaviours and abilities."
This suggests that the AI Designer will also be involved in future Mafia titles. All signs point to Hangar 13 already planning its next project, although its fate will likely depend on the success or failure of Mafia: The Old Country.
Mafia: The Old Country is set to launch on August 8 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. Recently, new screenshots, the first preview, and fresh gameplay footage were revealed. You can read more about the game here.
