Insider: GTA Online May Introduce Age Verification System

According to well-known insider and dataminer Tez2, Grand Theft Auto Online may soon implement an age verification system. Mentions of the feature were found in the code of the latest update.
Reportedly, players who fail to verify their age could lose access to certain features, including in-game chat and Snapmatic. The system is expected to be rolled out regionally, likely based on local laws. Notably, Rockstar Games appears to have started working on user verification following the passage of the Online Safety Act in the UK, which requires age confirmation to access online services.
According to the insider, the update may roll out in the near future.
Meanwhile, new rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 have surfaced — multiplayer is said to arrive after the base game's release, and Rockstar is reportedly discussing support for fan-made RP servers.
