Report: BioShock 4 Undergoes Major Rework, Remake of Original Game Delayed

According to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, development on BioShock 4 has hit serious roadblocks. 2K Games reportedly criticized the game's storyline and sent the project back for revisions — while also firing the head of the studio.
The new installment has been in development for nearly 10 years, going through multiple teams before landing at Cloud Chamber in 2019. Schreier's sources inside the company claim that BioShock 4 recently failed an internal review with the publisher, prompting executives to dismiss Cloud Chamber studio head Kelley Gilmore and demand a complete rewrite of the narrative. It's likely more staff cuts may follow.
Additionally, 2K Games had been working on a remake of the original BioShock, but according to Schreier, that project was quietly shelved earlier this year.
