The developer behind the large-scale SoC: Update 2.0 mod for the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has released a 40-minute video detailing the project’s current state. Here are the highlights:
- Updated versions of Cordon, Garbage, Agroprom, Dark Valley, and Yantar, with some changes tied to new quests;
- Cordon has seen the biggest overhaul — the military base was redesigned, the Rookie Village expanded, the bridge replaced, and a new point of interest added;
- The Swamps from Clear Sky have been brought in, now with a winter makeover;
- Numerous new assets, along with improved road and terrain detail;
- A bodycam-style effect for certain missions, used for “collecting evidence”;
- A new weapon inspection feature with the ability to swap attachments in real time.
Following the video’s release, the developer will focus on refining weapon models and launching a closed beta. Testing will be done in several waves, with the full release coming only after all bugs have been addressed.
