During Opening Night Live 2025 at gamescom, CI Games officially announced Lords of the Fallen 2, a new dark fantasy action RPG. The developers debuted a cinematic trailer packed with dramatic visuals. The game is set to launch in 2026 for PC (EGS), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
“Dark fantasy action-RPG where brutal, soulslike combat meets a world splitting at its core. Battle against the darkness in an epic adventure across a shattered kingdom. One world. Two realms. No mercy,” reads the official description.
Lords of the Fallen 2 will offer both single-player and co-op modes, including cross-platform play. Players will explore a devastated kingdom where the worlds of the living and the dead are beginning to merge, making every step potentially fatal.
With the Umbral Lamp, players can shift between two parallel dimensions, discovering unique paths, hidden treasures, and facing nightmarish creatures. Combat promises to be intense and tactical, ranging from aggressive melee to magic and ranged weapons, with plenty of room to experiment with different builds.
The game will also feature massive boss battles—colossal enemies that will test players’ skill and endurance. All of this is designed to immerse players in a dark fantasy atmosphere, where the hero must rise up to overthrow an immortal god and save humanity.

For reference, in 2023 CI Games and Hexworks released Lords of the Fallen, a reimagining of the original 2014 game. The project received mixed reviews on Steam, but after the release of the major 2.0 update, player ratings improved significantly. The update notably enhanced the co-op experience, introduced numerous technical fixes, and expanded the character creator’s options.
