A New The Outer Worlds 2 Trailer Introduces Your Companions

Xbox Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment have released a brand-new trailer for the sci-fi first-person RPG The Outer Worlds 2, this time focusing on in-game companions. The game is set to launch on October 29 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

In this sequel, players will venture to a new colony with a fresh crew and arsenal, facing unfamiliar enemies and dangers along the way.

You’ll step into the shoes of a brave (and, most likely, charming) agent of the Earth Directorate. Your main mission: uncover the cause behind devastating rifts that threaten humanity’s very existence. The investigation will take you to Arcadia, where the mysterious jump drive technology first emerged.

Since the Protectorate’s grip was weakened by a religious order’s uprising and an external invasion, Arcadia has been torn apart by internal conflict. Players will explore diverse zones, unravel secrets of the past, and shape the colony’s future through their choices. Every action you take will impact the world, allowing you to craft your own unique playstyle—whether as a peacemaker or an agent of chaos.

Your new companions are the key to success. Each has their own backstory, personality, and ambitions. You can help them achieve their goals or draw them into your own plans, influencing the story’s direction—including the possibility of their survival or demise.

On a technical note, it was recently announced that The Outer Worlds 2 will support DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation, DLSS Frame Generation, and DLSS Super Resolution.
