Valheim Update Adds New Enemy, Armor, and Content: Download Available Now

Developers at Iron Gate Studios have released a trailer for the major Call To Arms update for survival sim Valheim. Players can now craft new armor, face off against a new enemy, and enjoy additional content already available on the test server.
Valheim: Call To Arms introduces a new creature — the bear — which will pose a true challenge for Vikings. Hunting it will yield resources such as bear meat, crafting hides, new trophies, and ingredients. Bears will also drop materials needed to forge a new armor set, showcased in the trailer and screenshot below.
Key features of the update:
- Rebalanced Forsaken Powers;
- New combat mechanics and improvements;
- 13 new trinkets for equipment;
- Additional creatures, food items, crafting and building materials, hairstyles, and 18 new weapon types;
- Improved placement of items on stands;
- Updated Unity engine;
- Various bug fixes and gameplay improvements.
A full list of changes is available on the developers' website. In addition, the Valheim team once again teased the upcoming Deep North biome and showcased weapons that will be available once it launches.
The Call To Arms update is already live on the test server. To install it via Steam, right-click the game title, select "Properties," open the "Betas" section, and enter the code yesimadebackups. Game Pass subscribers can access it by opening Xbox Insider Hub and joining the server through "Valheim Public Test."
