'Lord of the Rings' Comes to Valheim: Massive Fan-Made Map Features the Shire, Rivendell, Moria, Minas Tirith, and Mordor
Diana Golenko
Modder mrholmestv has completed a truly monumental project, bringing iconic Lord of the Rings locations into the Norse survival game Valheim. Players can now explore Middle-earth and embark on their own adventure through legendary places such as Moria, Rivendell, and Minas Tirith.
The fan creator spent nearly 20 months constructing a full-scale Middle-earth inside Valheim. The new adventure map, The New World, allows players to retrace the journey to Mount Doom, much like in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. The trailer showcases Bilbo Baggins’s home in the Shire, the elven city of Rivendell, the ruins where the Nazgûl wounded Frodo, the Pillars of Argonath, Moria — complete with a recreation of Gandalf’s battle against the Balrog — Helm’s Deep, Minas Tirith, and even Mordor itself.
The New World map is available for free download here. Players can experience the adventure solo or with a group. Meanwhile, Valheim also recently received a new content update, now live on the public test servers.
