Dataminers Find New Weapon in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 With a Metro Series Reference — Could Be Added in Future Patches
It looks like the arsenal of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl may expand with new weaponry. A dataminer known as Greshnyy discovered in-game files containing a description and stats for a revolver designed for stealth gameplay — and its name directly references the Metro series from 4A Games.
The weapon features the following description: "Someone went the extra mile to chamber this revolver for special intermediate cartridges. The effort invested in this project is difficult to measure, but the outcome is undeniably impressive." The revolver is modified to fire rifle calibers, comes equipped with a suppressor, and bears the notable name Tihar — the same name as the improvised air rifle from Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, and Metro Exodus. Combined with these traits, the new weapon could be a great option for players who prefer a stealthy approach.
Unfortunately, no images of the Tihar revolver were found in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 files. It’s unclear whether the weapon will be officially added through upcoming patches — the latest roadmap didn’t announce new weapons, though plans could still change. Modders from the community may also recreate it independently.
For reference, a recent 1.5.3 patch fixed several bugs, improved the A-Life system, and made other gameplay adjustments. GSC Game World also showcased a trailer for the PS5 version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, highlighting new features such as realistic guitar playing and graphical upgrades.
