It looks like the sales of Batman: Arkham Shadow paid off — according to the voice actor for Commissioner Gordon, Meta and Warner Bros. have given the project the green light for a sequel. The studio Camouflaj will soon begin development.
In an interview with Culture Combine at Fan Expo Chicago 2025, Mark Rolston revealed that the action team is “about to start another one of those,” referring to Batman: Arkham Shadow. At the same time, the actor announced his return as Commissioner Gordon — suggesting that the rest of the cast may also reprise their roles for the sequel. Notably, back in November of last year, Camouflaj head Ryan Payton said he “would very much love to do that” in regard to making a continuation.
We hope we make it a really easy decision for leadership over at Meta and at Warner Brothers to tap us on the shoulders to do a sequel. We would very much love to do that.
Batman: Arkham Shadow was released in 2024 exclusively for Meta Quest VR devices. The story takes place after Arkham Origins: this time, Gotham's Dark Knight must investigate the mastermind behind the city's riots. To put an end to the chaos, he infiltrates Gotham’s criminal underworld and faces the darker side of his own nature. The project received positive reception from both players and critics — the VR action scored 85/100 on Metacritic.
Recently, the adventure action game LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was announced. Based on a leaked map, the project will feature one of the largest open worlds in any Batman game.
