Leak: Helldivers 2 to Get Its Own Planet-Destroying “Death Star”

Leaker Iron_S1ghts, known for sharing Helldivers 2 information, has posted a screenshot of a new threat for the hell-diving soldiers. A full-fledged “Death Star” straight out of Star Wars is set to appear in the game — a similar station will soon be added to the Automaton faction.

The object is described as “a planet-size superweapon constructed by the automatons, following the construction of factory worlds.” According to the leak, the device will feature an annihilation cannon capable of destroying entire planets. A model of the station is already in place, showing its position on the galactic map.When Arrowhead plans to add the superweapon remains unknown.

Recently, Helldivers 2 received a major update that allowed players to explore Terminid hive worlds. The patch also introduced four new enemy types, rebalanced weapons, and included several fixes. Additionally, in August, Helldivers 2 finally launched on Xbox Series X/S.

The shooter’s player count has been holding up quite well — just recently, Helldivers 2 hit a peak of 178,000 concurrent players following the latest updates. Over the summer, Sony also brought the game back on sale in several countries after removing the mandatory PSN account linking. Alongside Helldivers 2, the publisher quietly lifted restrictions for other titles as well.
