Following the recent controversy over paid clan DLC in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, the developers have issued an update. By September 8, all players who preordered the game through the PlayStation Store will automatically receive refunds.

The decision is tied to certain changes that The Chinese Room and Paradox Interactive plan to implement. The official Bloodlines 2 account has not yet explained what those changes will entail but promised to share details on September 17. For now, PS Store users are advised to renew their preorders before the game’s release on October 21.

It remains unclear whether refunds will extend to other digital platforms.

Preorders for Bloodlines 2 sparked backlash early on, after The Chinese Room and Paradox Interactive announced that the Lasombra and Toreador clans would only be available through the most expensive edition, priced at $90. Both players and journalists criticized this monetization strategy, prompting the developers to promise a review of their approach. It is still uncertain whether the DLC clans will be folded into the base game.

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 is scheduled to launch on October 21 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. We recently went hands-on with the demo and shared our impressions in a preview. Just a few days ago, another trailer dropped, this one spotlighting the Ventrue clan.
