Tom Henderson: Rockstar May Delay GTA 6 Again to Maximize Profits
Diana Golenko
Respected journalist and insider Tom Henderson suggested in a recent episode of the Insider Gaming podcast that Rockstar Games might once again delay Grand Theft Auto 6. In his view, an autumn release would generate more revenue for the studio.
Henderson speculated that it would make sense to move the launch from May to October — a pre-holiday period in the U.S. when consumers are more willing to spend money. To avoid fueling rumors, he clarified that this is only his personal opinion and not based on insider knowledge from Rockstar. It’s also worth noting that Take-Two has not discussed any delay — CEO Strauss Zelnick recently reaffirmed that GTA 6 will release on time.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version has not yet been announced. The game’s story will return fans to Vice City and follow the criminal duo Jason and Lucia as they get entangled with the mafia while chasing a better life.
Meanwhile, parts of the indie scene have already dubbed the project the first-ever “AAAAA game,” believing it will overshadow competitors and set a new industry standard. Alleged descriptions of unused GTA 6 storylines have also surfaced online. We’ve broken down all the leaks and theories surrounding one of the most anticipated releases in our full article.
