Valheim Fan Shows How to Upgrade Hostile Mobs — Gamers Already Want to See the Idea in the Game

In the Scandinavian survival simulator Valheim, mobs have three rarity levels that determine how strong they are and how many resources they drop. However, it’s not always easy to tell a mob’s rank from a distance, and one fan decided to imagine how enemies of different elite levels could look.

In the original game, there are indeed visual differences, but they usually come down to color or a few extra details. Often, players have to rely on the stars above a mob’s health bar — the maximum level is two stars. Reddit user HardHarrison used AI to create concept art showing unique appearances for enemies depending on their elite status. As seen in the images, two-star enemies are bigger, more scarred, and better armored than regular mobs.

The post received 13,000 upvotes from Valheim fans. Many praised HardHarrison’s work and expressed a desire to see the idea implemented in the game, either as a mod or an official update from the developers.

This would be so cool! It wouldn't be so arbitrary anymore.

This would be huge for me, I love this idea. They can do so much for this game they honestly created such a great foundation.

Would also love for them to drop their own starred trophy.

I love the idea. I'd be lying if I said I never got in trouble because I forgot to check a mob's star level. Having a more distinct visual difference would also make them look more terrifying.

Officially marking this as one of the best suggestions I've seen for this game so far.

Recently, Valheim received another content update, which is currently in beta testing. Fans have also recreated Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings in the game and built one of the largest maps ever, taking 1,200 hours to complete.
