Sony has released a new video for the open-world action-adventure Ghost of Yotei. The ten-minute clip highlights the breathtaking Japanese landscapes players will experience throughout their journey.
Previous trailers for Ghost of Yotei have showcased combat with the odachi (a traditional long Japanese sword) and ranged attacks using firearms.
Set in 17th-century Japan, Ghost of Yotei transports players to the northern lands of Ezo, three centuries after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The story centers on Atsu, a mercenary who returns home after sixteen years to avenge her family’s murder by a ruthless gang. Along the way, she faces far greater challenges and forges unexpected alliances.
The game blends fast-paced melee and ranged combat with opportunities to learn from masters and develop your own fighting style. The narrative focuses on Atsu’s personal drama and her quest for inner peace, while exploring the vast lands around Mount Yotei—where blooming fields meet snowy cliffs—allows players to discover side quests and strengthen their character.
“Follow the story to see if Atsu can heal her emotional wounds and find something more important than revenge. Immerse yourself in Japanese culture: relax in an onsen, make offerings at shrines, try your hand at sumi-e painting, and much more,” the description reads.
Ghost of Yotei is set to release exclusively on PlayStation 5 on October 2 this year. The first reviews are expected on September 25. For more details about the game, click here.
