During the Xbox presentation at Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft officially announced Forza Horizon 6. As previously leaked, the next entry in the racing series will be set in Japan.
So far, Microsoft has only shared a short teaser trailer, which was accidentally released early by one of the company’s accounts. According to the official Xbox blog, the game will feature a heavily improved seasonal system, affecting not only the game’s visuals but also its sound design and overall atmosphere. Developers at Playground Games also promised a wide range of vehicles, unique Japanese driving culture, a realistic approach to recreating locations from the Land of the Rising Sun, and a variety of environments — from multi-level Tokyo to the rural countryside.
Forza Horizon 6 is slated for release in 2026 on PC and Xbox Series X/S. The project already has store pages live on Steam and the Microsoft Store. Playground Games has promised to share more about gameplay and other features early next year. In addition, together with Turn 10 Studios, the game will also be ported to PlayStation 5 after launch, though no exact date has been announced yet.
